FairyTale: Heaven's Wheel Swords WIP Update 3

Finishing off the last aspect of fabrication are the various decorations and gems that are to be a part of the sword’s aesthetic.

For the most part each aspect was relatively straightforward; for the red gems on the face of the cross-guard those were just cut from a sheet of PVC sheeting, similarly so were the winged parts and flat diamonds that sit on the surface of the blades.

For the blue 3D diamond like parts of the sword also on the crossguard I first started out with some thin pieces of cardboard I had lying around and hot glued them together to form the diamond like shapes.
Then on top of that I super glued acetates sheets onto the surfaces of the cardboard to hide the grainy surface of the cardboard underneath. For the diamond pommel of the sword those too were made this way using hot glued together bits of cardboard

To seal up all the gaps that were still exposed I used some plumber apoxie and sanded the edges to make them seem seamless.

and with that all that’s left to do is paint everything ^^
